Like most writers I started off as a reader. I would get lost for hours in the pages of books, hiding under the covers with a flashlight just to finish the next chapter.

At 10, my teacher allowed us to "self-publish" stories and then allow them to be borrowed in the school library. I was hooked, writing books and sequels that only my little sister checked out.

My life took a detour as an adult when I became first a teacher and then a mental health counselor. I worked primarily with children who had experienced trauma and their parents to help them heal.

Then I became a parent myself. There is nothing like holding a vulnerable infant who is completely dependent on you. It changes you and strangely brought me back to a part of myself that had been dormant since childhood. The writer.

I write content focused on parenting and mental health.
